We’ve seen a lot of new residents moving into our apartments in Round Rock as of late, and we understand that it can be hard to move into a new place and be forced to reimagine your furniture layout. If you’ve been struggling to furnish your new place in a way that makes sense, you’ve come to the right place. In the post below, we’ll be telling you how you can furnish your place in a way that makes sense now and will leave you flexible in the future.
In our humble opinion, furnishing an apartment is all about maximizing space. You might love the idea of having a massive sectional sofa, but it’s important to consider the floor space you’re sacrificing to make that work. We’ve got more tips like that below, so without further ado, let’s dive right in! When you’re done reading through this post, please be sure to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at Landing — the apartments Round Rock residents choose for comfort and convenience.
Keep it bright
If you’re trying to decide between a light, bright color scheme and a dark, cozy color scheme, allow us to help you weigh the pros and cons. While dark and cozy can feel comfortable during the colder months, the reality of the matter is that there just aren’t that many colder months in Austin. Plus, darker colors will make your place seem small and cramped, even if it’s not.
Light colors, on the other hand, make your place seem brighter and more open. You can make it seem even more open by adding mirrors and metallic surfaces that spread light to the farthest corners of your apartment. Austin is warm and sunny 8 months out of the year, so you might as well decorate your apartment accordingly!
Pay attention to scale
Earlier in this post, we mentioned that some people are tempted to get a huge couch, or a massive entertainment center. The issue with large pieces like that is that all your pieces have to be large. By the time you’re done furnishing your place with huge pieces, you’ll have no floor space left! Adding a small couch to your space will give you more flexibility when choosing other furniture. If you want to keep your apartment open, opt for smaller pieces instead.
Go for glass
A good way to keep your apartment looking and spacious is to add glass tables and entertainment centers. They require a bit more cleaning than the wood or metal tables you’re used to having, but the payoff is worth it. Your visual space will be clutter-free, and you won’t have to sacrifice any surface area to achieve that look.
