The most resident-friendly community of apartments in Round Rock is back with another brand new blog post for our residents! We’re always trying to help our residents make the most of their space, and this week, it’s all about making your apartment as beautiful as possible. Sure, you've already got luxurious details and a spacious floor plan, but we’re going to tell you how to make the most of your space using some expert interior design tips.
Whether you’ve just moved into Landing at Round Rock or you've been here awhile and are hoping to refresh the look of your place, we think you’ll find some useful tips in the list below. Without further delay, let’s take a look! Oh, and when you’re done reading, please be sure to share the link to this post with your friends and neighbors at Landing — the apartments Round Rock residents choose for comfort and style.
Use metallics and mirrors whenever possible
The key to making your apartment seem as spacious as possible is to spread light around. You can add a ton of lamps to your space, but we also recommend hanging mirrors and adding metallic surfaces whenever you bring new pieces into the home. These reflective surfaces will help spread light into even the darkest corners of your apartment, making it seem bigger as a result.
Maximize your corner space
Try to find desks, shelves and chairs that are made to fit in corner spaces. You can add a lot of extra floor space to your apartment by taking advantage of pieces that conform to your corner. Another great way to maximize corner space is to add a small rug to your corner along with a little table and lamp, turning it into a reading nook. The more separate spaces you can create in your home, the bigger it will seem.
Don't push furniture up against the wall
Although it might seem like pushing your couches and chairs up against the wall will add more space to the middle of the room, you can actually make your place seem bigger by leaving a bit of space between your furniture and the wall. Pushing furniture up against the wall gives your room a crowded look, while leaving space in front of the wall allows you to put a large mirror back there or add a narrow behind-the-couch table to your space.
Bring nature inside
Few things can brighten up a space and make it seem more open and airy quite like a plant. We’re especially fond of hanging plants, which pull double duty by drawing people’s eyes upwards and adding a fresh look to your apartment. Not only do plants look good, but they can also freshen up the air inside your home. If you hate the feeling of coming inside on a sunny day, add some plants and bring nature inside with you!
