Your favorite community of Round Rock apartments is back with another brand new blog post for y’all, and this one is all about saving more money, more often. Did any of you make a new years resolution to save more money in 2018? How’s that going? If your savings account isn’t looking quite as full as you’d like it to look, this blog can help with that.
There a lot of apps and services out there that can help you save money, so if you haven’t explored the savings scene in awhile, we hope this blog introduces you to some new savings methods. Whether you’re saving for a specific goal or you just want to see more money in your account at the end of every month, we think the tips in this post can help you out in a big way. Check out the list below, and please be sure to share the link to this post with your friends and neighbors at your community of apartments in Round Rock.
Tip 1. Remind yourself of your goals
There are a lot of different ways to save money, but it really comes down to motivation. One way to motivate yourself to save more is to set goals and constantly remind yourself of those goals. Let’s say you want to save money for a vacation. It might be a good idea to put pictures of your destination in your car and in your wallet. If you’re saving for a new car or a new TV, put pictures of those things in your office or around your house. When you’re constantly being reminded of your goals, you’re less likely to make impulse purchases.
You’re probably already automating transfers from your checking account to your savings account after every paycheck, but there’s a lot more you can do with technology if you want to save money. If you’re not aware of services like Acorns and Digit, we recommend reading up on those two apps. Both of them pull money out of your account in small amounts, so you won’t even notice it’s gone. What you will notice, however, is how much money you have in your Digit and Acorns accounts when you check it after a couple months.
Cut one thing out of your budget each week
If you normally get coffee every day from the coffee shop, try drinking coffee at home (or work) for a week. The next week, you can go back to buying coffee, but you have to give something else up. The same goes for the week after that. If you use this method of saving, you can set all the money aside that you’d normally be spending on the various money you’re cutting out of your budget. Who knows — you might even realize that you don’t need one of those things that you cut out of your budget! The more you can cut down on small purchases, the more you can spend on those big purchases that you really care about.
Those are all the savings tips we have for you this week, residents!
