Your favorite community of apartments in Round Rock is back with another informative blog post! This week, we want to talk about staying tidy in 2018. There are few things that contribute to stress quite like a messy home, but you can also easily alleviate stress by tidying up! It might not be fun to think about actually putting in the work to organize your apartment, but we think the payoff is worth it.

Think about how you feel when you walk into your apartment after a long day of work. Are you happy to be home, or are you overwhelmed by the cleaning and organizing that you have to do? If the second option sounds more like your experience, it’s probably time to get organized. Take a look at the blog below, and be sure to let us know if you end up using of these tips! We always love to hear about resident success stories.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the organizing tips below. After you’re done reading this week’s blog, please be sure to share the link to this post with your friends and neighbors at Landing at Round Rock — the apartments Round Rock residents choose for luxurious, convenient living.

Add storage vertically

Next time you go out to buy a shelf, a dresser, or entertainment center, look for ones that are tall and narrow rather than short and squat. Floor space is at a premium in apartments, but there’s usually plenty of vertical space to work with. By adding storage vertically instead of horizontally, you can take advantage of that extra space without taking up too much square footage on the floor. People are constantly obsessing over the amount of floor space in their apartment, but we think it’s equally important to be concerned about vertical space. If you’re a savvy apartment dweller, you’ll know how to take advantage of both!

Leave no space unused

Think about all the space in your apartment that’s going to waste. We’re talking about the space under your bed, behind your closet door, and wherever else there might be space that’s hard to reach, but easy to take advantage of. If you want to maximize the space underneath your bed, you can buy large drawers that are specifically made for that part of your home. The same goes for the space behind your closet door. Check out these door-hangers that can hold shoes, hats, robes and more.

Make sure you have places to store clutter

If you find yourself constantly cleaning up clutter around your house, it’s probably time to invest in more baskets, boxes and shelves. Clutter doesn’t look bed when it’s hidden in baskets, and there’s no shame in having a “junk basket” where you put everything that doesn't actually have its own particular storage space. If you have nice looking baskets, it doesn’t really matter what they’re filled with!

Those are all the organization tips we’ve got for you this week, residents!
